Getting your TradingView trades in
- In Propbook's settings, click Get my sync URL — it is private to your account.
- In TradingView, create an alert on your strategy or indicator and paste that URL into the Webhook URL field.
- Put your trade details in the alert message so Propbook knows the instrument, direction, size and result.
- Fire a test alert and check it lands in your journal before relying on it.
- From then on, every alert that triggers is written to the day it belongs to — and your rule tracking updates with it.
What Propbook reads from the file
| Propbook reads | Columns it looks for |
|---|---|
| The instrument | ticker contract |
| Direction and size | side qty |
| Result | pnl r |
Detection is automatic — you drop the file in and Propbook names the format back to you. If a column is missing or oddly named, it falls back to picking the date and P&L columns itself, and you can correct the mapping before anything is saved.
From logging to copying
The same webhook can do more than write history. Pointed at PropSync, a TradingView alert places the order on your lead account and mirrors it to every follower account, each with its own size multiplier and its own drawdown guard.
It arms in dry-run mode by default. Live mode asks you to confirm, twice, because it sends real orders.
A webhook is only as disciplined as the alert
Automated logging removes the excuse of a busy session, not the need to review. The traders who get value from this are the ones who still read the week back — the log is the raw material, not the conclusion.
Why a prop trader needs more than the platform's own report
TradingView shows your chart and your idea. It has no notion of a funded account's trailing line, and a strategy tester result means nothing to a firm that will fail you on a daily limit.
🛡️ Rule tracking
Trailing drawdown, daily loss, target and consistency — live, per account, with 19 firm presets.
🔔 Breach alerts
A free Telegram ping before you cross a limit, not a post-mortem after it.
💰 Payout readiness
Buffer, qualifying days and consistency share in one place, so you know when to ask.
📊 Your real edge
Fees and resets counted against payouts received — the number platform reports never show.
Import your TradingView history in a minute
Free, no card, and you can try it without an account — your data stays on your device in guest mode.
Open Propbook →TradingView — FAQ
Is the TradingView webhook free?
Yes — it is free while PropSync and webhook are in beta. A TradingView plan that supports webhook alerts is required on their side.
Do I need a paid TradingView account?
Webhook alerts are a paid TradingView feature, so yes on their end. The Propbook side costs nothing.
Can it place real orders?
Only through PropSync, only on accounts you connect yourself, and only after you switch it out of dry-run and confirm. Journal logging alone never touches a broker.
What if an alert fires twice?
Duplicate protection means the same trade is not written twice; days are replaced rather than accumulated.
