Usually your starting balance — Apex locks $100 above it.
Your days
Nothing leaves your browser. Preset numbers are typical values — always check them against your own account.
The three drawdown types, in plain words
Intraday trailing
The line follows your highest unrealised equity. A trade that runs +$700 and gives it back still costs you $700 of cushion. Apex, Bulenox, Leeloo, Alpha Futures.
End-of-day trailing
The line follows your closing balance only. Intraday spikes are free. Topstep, MyFundedFutures, Take Profit Trader, Tradeify, Earn2Trade, Elite Trader Funding.
Static
The line never moves: starting balance minus the maximum loss. Common on CFD firms — FTMO, FundingPips, FXIFY, E8 Markets, The5ers.
The lock
Trailing stops once the line reaches your starting balance (Apex: +$100). From there you are only ever risking profit you already made.
Why traders blow accounts on this rule
Almost nobody fails a challenge because their strategy stopped working over three days. They fail because the number they had in their head — "I have $2,000 of room" — was the number from before their best day. The line moved up with the win; the room stayed the same; the next loss landed on the new line.
That is the whole reason Propbook exists: it keeps this calculation running for every account you own, every day, and pings you on Telegram before the room runs out instead of after.

Open Propbook →Trailing drawdown — FAQ
What is a trailing drawdown?
It is a moving loss limit. Instead of sitting at a fixed level, your maximum-loss line follows your account up: every time your balance makes a new high, the line moves up by the same amount, so the cushion under you stays the same size while the level you must stay above keeps rising.
What is the difference between intraday and end-of-day trailing?
An intraday trailing drawdown follows your highest unrealised equity, so an open trade that goes +$800 and comes back moves the line even though you never banked the profit. An end-of-day trailing drawdown only follows your closing balance, so unrealised spikes during the session are ignored.
When does the trailing drawdown stop moving?
On most futures firms it stops once the line reaches your starting balance — at that point you can no longer lose more than your own profit. Apex is the common exception: the line locks at your starting balance plus $100. The calculator lets you set that lock level yourself.
Does this calculator send my numbers anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded, stored or logged. Propbook itself can track the same numbers automatically, day after day, if you want them kept.
Which firms use which drawdown type?
Topstep, MyFundedFutures, Take Profit Trader, Tradeify, Earn2Trade and Elite Trader Funding use end-of-day trailing. Apex, Bulenox, Leeloo and Alpha Futures use intraday trailing. Most CFD firms — FTMO, FundingPips, FXIFY, E8, The5ers — use a static maximum loss.
