Getting your NinjaTrader trades in
- In NinjaTrader, open the Trade Performance or Executions view for the period you want.
- Right-click the grid and export it to CSV — the exact menu wording moves between versions, look for the export or save option on the results grid.
- In Propbook, go to Journal → Import and drop the file in.
- Check the preview — Propbook names the format and totals the days before anything is written.
- Choose the account and import.
What Propbook reads from the file
| Propbook reads | Columns it looks for |
|---|---|
| The day of the trade | Exit time Entry time Time |
| Realised P&L | Profit Realized PnL |
| The instrument | Instrument Entry name |
Detection is automatic — you drop the file in and Propbook names the format back to you. If a column is missing or oddly named, it falls back to picking the date and P&L columns itself, and you can correct the mapping before anything is saved.
Cumulative columns are ignored on purpose
NinjaTrader exports often carry both a per-trade profit and a running total. Propbook deliberately skips anything that looks cumulative — running, balance, equity — and reads the per-trade figure, because adding a cumulative column would multiply your P&L.
If the numbers in the preview look far too large, that is the column to check first. You can override the mapping before saving.
Why a prop trader needs more than the platform's own report
NinjaTrader's analytics are strong on strategy and silent on rules. It has no idea that your account is $340 from a trailing line, because it does not know your firm's contract — and that is the number that decides your month.

Open Propbook →NinjaTrader — FAQ
Which NinjaTrader export works?
Both the trade performance grid and the executions grid work. The important thing is a per-trade profit column and a timestamp.
Does Propbook read my NinjaTrader account live?
No. Nothing is connected — you export a file and drop it in. The only live connections in Propbook are the MT5 sync and PropSync, and both are opt-in.
Will my commissions be counted?
Whatever your export's profit column includes is what gets imported. If it is gross, log your fees separately in the account so your real edge stays honest.
Can I use it with a prop account on NinjaTrader?
Yes. Set the account to your firm's preset and the rules apply on top of the imported days.
