Killzones & macros
The hours when the algorithm moves price, in New York time.
ICT trades only in specific windows: the Asian range, the London open, the New York morning and the London close. Inside them, short 20 to 30 minute macros are when he expects price to seek liquidity or rebalance a gap.
How to spot it
- 1
Work in New York time: Asia 20:00–00:00, London 02:00–05:00, New York AM 07:00–10:00, London close 10:00–12:00.
- 2
Mark the high and low of the Asian and London ranges: New York often runs one of them.
- 3
Macros such as 09:50–10:10 and 10:50–11:10 are the moments to watch for the setup, not to force it.
On a prop firm account
Trading only inside one killzone a day is the simplest guard against your firm's daily loss limit and against revenge trading after a red morning.
