Breaker block
An order block that failed, and now works from the other side.
A breaker forms when price takes liquidity beyond a swing, then reverses hard through the order block that defended it. That failed block flips: old support becomes resistance and the other way round.
How to spot it
- 1
Look for a sweep of a recent low (or high) first.
- 2
Then a displacement through the swing that came just before the sweep: that is the shift.
- 3
The candles of that broken swing are the breaker: wait for price to return into them.
On a prop firm account
The sweep plus shift sequence filters many false entries. Your stop goes beyond the sweep's extreme, so size the position from that distance, not from the breaker itself.
