Two families of copiers
Cloud copiers run on the vendor's servers and are sold as a subscription — public pricing of the main futures copiers ran from about $49 to $150 a month when we checked on 17 September 2026, depending on the number of accounts.
Desktop licences — often NinjaTrader add-ons — are bought once, roughly $99 to $299, but they need a machine left running while you trade, usually a VPS at around $20 to $50 a month.
The checklist
- Platforms — does it support every platform your accounts are on (TopstepX, Tradovate, NinjaTrader, MetaTrader 5…)?
- Account limit — how many followers per plan, and what happens when you add one more.
- Size per follower — can each follower trade its own multiple of the lead?
- What is copied — market entries, stops, targets and limit entries, closes, size changes.
- Simulation mode — can you rehearse without sending orders?
- Kill switch — one button that flattens every mapped account.
- A guard on each follower — does it know each account's drawdown and daily-loss room, and skip the copy that would breach it?
The feature most copiers skip
Most copiers are fast and faithful: they send the same order everywhere. That is exactly the problem when your followers are in different states — one account with plenty of room, another close to its limit.
A copier that reads each follower's own rules can refuse the copy on the account that can't afford it, and let the others trade. That is the difference between losing one trade and losing several accounts. More on copying safely →
Where Propbook stands, honestly
Propbook's copier, PropSync, puts a guard on every follower and ties it to the journal you already keep. Pro copies to 20 follower accounts for $19.99 a month billed yearly ($29.99 monthly); Elite copies to 200 for $39.99 billed yearly ($49.99 monthly), founding price for the first 100 members.
One honest difference in their favour: established copy engines work today, and PropSync goes live with Pro and Elite on 1 November 2026. Until then it is free in beta, with simulation mode — see the full comparison.
Compare it on your own accounts
Set up PropSync in simulation and see which copies Guard would block — free while in beta.

Do I need a VPS for a trade copier?
For desktop licences and add-ons, yes — the machine has to stay on while you trade. Cloud copiers run on the vendor's servers.
Is copying allowed by prop firms?
It depends on the firm and changes over time. Many allow copying between accounts you own and forbid copying someone else's trades. Read the firm's current rules.
What does Propbook's copier cost?
PropSync is free while in beta. Pro is $19.99 a month billed yearly ($29.99 monthly) for 20 followers; Elite is $39.99 billed yearly ($49.99 monthly) for 200, from 1 November 2026.
Which platforms does PropSync support?
TopstepX, MetaTrader 5 and NinjaTrader 8 in beta; direct Tradovate copying is in early access, and Tradovate prop accounts can already go through NinjaTrader.
