Daily bias
Decide where price is going today before you look for an entry.
The daily bias is the direction you favour for the day, built from the higher timeframes: which liquidity price is likely to reach next, and from which PD array it is reacting. ICT starts from the daily and weekly chart, then drops to the intraday timeframes only to time the entry.
How to spot it
- 1
On the daily chart, mark the previous day's high and low and the nearest old highs and lows.
- 2
Ask which one price is drawn to: a recent close through yesterday's range is a clue, so is a reaction from a daily FVG or order block.
- 3
Only take intraday setups in that direction; if the picture is unclear, the bias is no trade.
On a prop firm account
A written bias before the open is the best defence against flipping long and short all morning, which is how most evaluations run into their daily loss limit.
