What actually separates them

The drawdown itself is the same family and the same room on the shared sizes. Everything that separates them is layered on top.

Topstep adds a daily loss limit and a 50% consistency rule, and starts at $50K. Tradeify's default account carries neither and starts at $25K — a cheaper entry with a tighter $1,500 cushion, which makes sizing discipline compulsory rather than advisable.

One is a structured programme, the other hands you the rope. Which is safer depends entirely on whether your accounts die in single bad sessions or slowly.

Which one suits you

Topstep fits you if…

You want a hard daily stop enforced by the firm and the most documented payout process in futures prop trading.

Tradeify fits you if…

You want to start at $25K, keep your sessions unconstrained and avoid a consistency brake on your best day.

Not sure? Run your last twenty days through the drawdown calculator under both rule sets — the same P&L can pass one and fail the other.

Trading both? Track both.

Propbook keeps each account on its own rule set — Topstep, Tradeify or seventeen others — with the room left on every one of them live. Free, no card.

FAQ

Is the drawdown identical?

Both are end-of-day trailing with the same maximum loss on the sizes they share. The daily limit and consistency rule are what differ.

Which is cheaper to start?

Tradeify offers a $25K account against Topstep's $50K minimum — with a proportionally smaller drawdown, so the risk per trade has to come down with it.

Does a consistency rule fail the account?

On most firms it delays the payout rather than failing the account. You keep trading until the total profit is large enough for your best day to fall back under the percentage.
