The rules, side by side
| Rule | Topstep | MyFundedFutures |
|---|---|---|
| Drawdown type | End-of-day trailing | End-of-day trailing |
| Daily loss limit | $1,000 | not in the preset |
| Consistency rule | 50% | not in the preset |
| Minimum trading days | 5 | not in the preset |
| Account sizes | $50K · $100K · $150K | $50K · $100K · $150K |
Typical values for each firm's standard accounts. "Not in the preset" means Propbook's default account for that firm carries no such limit — other plans from the same firm may, and firms change their terms, so check your own contract.
Account by account
| Account | Topstep max loss | Topstep target | MyFundedFutures max loss | MyFundedFutures target |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $50K | $2,000 | $3,000 | $2,000 | $3,000 |
| $100K | $3,000 | $6,000 | $3,000 | $6,000 |
| $150K | $4,500 | $9,000 | $4,500 | $9,000 |
What actually separates them
On the drawdown itself, there is nothing to choose between them: end-of-day trailing, $2,000 of room on a $50K, $3,000 on a $100K, $4,500 on a $150K.
The separation happens elsewhere. Topstep's standard account adds a daily loss limit and a 50% consistency rule — a hard stop each day and a payout brake on outsized sessions. Propbook's default MyFundedFutures account carries neither, which gives you more rope on any given day and, by the same token, more rope to hang the account with.
Traders who blow up on revenge trades usually do better where a daily limit exists. Traders whose edge is concentrated in a handful of sessions a month usually do better where a consistency rule does not.
Which one suits you
Topstep fits you if…
You want structure: a daily limit that ends the session for you, and a long-established firm with a well-known payout process.
MyFundedFutures fits you if…
You want fewer constraints inside the day and no consistency brake on a big session, and you are disciplined enough to set your own daily stop.
Not sure? Run your last twenty days through the drawdown calculator under both rule sets — the same P&L can pass one and fail the other.
Trading both? Track both.
Propbook keeps each account on its own rule set — Topstep, MyFundedFutures or seventeen others — with the room left on every one of them live. Free, no card.

Do Topstep and MyFundedFutures use the same drawdown?
Both use an end-of-day trailing drawdown with the same room on the standard account sizes: it follows your closing balance and stops once it reaches your starting balance.
Does MyFundedFutures have a daily loss limit?
Propbook's default account carries none, which is why the comparison shows it as absent — but several of the firm's plans are built differently. Check the plan you buy, then edit the preset, which stays fully editable.
Which is better for a beginner?
The one whose failure mode matches yours. If your accounts die in single bad sessions, a firm with a daily loss limit protects you from yourself. If they die slowly, the daily limit changes nothing.
